Hi there Peter,
We tried a product called Sour Apple when Amelia and Tweek were young.
It kept them away for a little while till the product evaporated. It
might work longer on a fabric that will absorb the liquid. Our chairs
were vinyl so it didn't last long (and neither did the chairs). Using
plain vinegar on the cloth might work as well. But in general any safe
item that will taste and/or smell bad to the bun might keep from chewing
the cloth.
But since it has been four years I'd be more wanting to find out why
he's all of a sudden decided to start chewing. Has there been any
change in his environment or routine that would make him act out like
that? Is he bored with his toys and needs some new more interesting
ones? Would a couple of cardboard boxes attract his attention from the
furniture? Is there a tooth issue that might make it relieving to him
to chew on fabric?
Cheers,
Darin.
