[Petbunny] computer/mouse problems

You're hitting the "middle" mouse button accidentally to get the "auto
scroll" command. How to use that is you click the middle mouse button (if
you only have two buttons, you click them both at the same time), and then
you move the mouse itself up or down, and that moves the page up or down.
The distance you moved it affects the speed it scrolls. To cancel auto
scroll, hit the middle mouse button again (or both right and left buttons at
the same time again--might take some practice).

Alternately, if this does not solve your problem, turn off your computer,
unplug the mouse, and look carefully at the plug. If it has six metal pins,
make sure all are straight. If it is a USB plug, check to make sure it is
flat and straight. Now look and feel the ENTIRE length of the cord. We ALL
know why. Do that part twice, once from each end. If it passes human
inspection, and obviously hasn't been inspected by a lagomorph recently,
plug it back in and make sure it is firmly plugged in and doesn't wiggle a
great deal. Turn the computer back on. Does the problem recreate itself?

If yes, here's the next step. If it is a USB mouse, unplug it and put it in
a different USB port. Wait sixty seconds or so. It'll tell you when it's
done changing itself. (Your new hardware is ready to be used) Is it fixed?
If it is a six pin, turn off the computer, unplug the mouse, turn on the
computer, hit the enter key when it tells you you don't have a mouse plugged
in (we know!), hit either the windows key or hold control while hitting the
escape key. The windows start menu will pop up. Hit the up arrow. Hit
enter to choose "Turn Off Computer", and then use the arrow keys to choose
"Turn Off". When it's off, plug the mouse back in, and turn it back on. Is
it fixed?

If you've tried all of the above, and to no avail, you have two options. Do
you have a friend locally who would let you borrow a mouse to see if it's
your mouse, and would let you test your mouse on their computer? (Good
option to see if it's your computer or your mouse) Or option two is to just
go get a new mouse. That can be as simple as $5 or $6 up to $70 depending
on how simple or fancy you get. When shopping, put your hand on it and put
the package flat on the shelf and pretend you're surfing. Is it
comfortable? If not, try another. Keyboards, mice, and monitors are the
three big things that will make you either love or hate your computer.
Never never never just "settle" for those three things.

If all else fails, give me a call (sent off list).

Subject: OT : computer/mouse problems

For the past few days when I move the mouse, I get a circle with an up and
down arrow in it. When this happens I cannot scroll, in fact at times the
page scrolls by itself.
Naturally I'm unable to click on anything!
So...is this just a mouse I need to replace, or something more?
BTW-while this is happening, my computer "clicks", and at times things
happen like I sign out of Yahoo, or the page changes to the next one.
While I was typing this, the message disappears (was minimized) and I had to
click again and again to bring it back on the screen. Help!
