[Petbunny] Happy Gotcha & Birthday Day, Benjamin!

5 years ago today, we adopted our Benjamin bunny from the local  
humane society.  He was estimated to be a year old, so he's not quite  
6 today =)

We thought he'd make a nice mate for Madison but as we all know,  
bunnies know best.  While we were meeting Ben, we also saw a  
beautiful gray dutch in the shelter but thought we could only take  
one home (and had our hearts set on a larger bunny who would be able  
to handle miss Diva herself).
Ha ha ha.

After 3 months of trying to bond Madison and Ben (and a trip or two  
to the vets for antibiotics), Kazi, our gray dutch, came home to stay  
as well -- and he made up his mind to be Madison's boy toy.

But today is Benjamin bunny's day - our handsome sweetheart of a  
bun.  Lover of all good pets and yummy treats.  and comforter of his  
hoomins when grief got too strong to bear alone - he would nudge my  
knee for pets to help ease my burden when we lost Magick.

When we adopted Maya, it didn't take Ben long to realize he wanted a  
snuggle-mate of his own and he made his moves to claim his princess.

He's not quite so sure about this new dawg though.  Paige gave him a  
big slurpy kiss the other day (through the NIC condo) and he wasn't  
sure what to make of that.  He plays his own version of tag with Izzy  
(again through the NIC condos).  But Ben is the boss of Maya, that's  
for sure.

So let's raise a glass of cilantro margaritas and toast our dear  
Benjamin boy - happy, happy Gotcha Day!!!  And happy, happy 6th  
birthday!!!
