I for one am VERY guilty of that.  I have a gazillion emails in my PB
folder.  I read them eventually.  I never go no mail.  I guess I'm addicted
to PB.  But that leaves people wondering where I disappear to at times.  Eh,
I'm just an enigma wrapped in a mystery stuffed in a puzzle.

Sometimes people just get so much email they don't reply to what they
should. It's nothing against you.... I often have a folder of emails that I
have read, but don't have time to reply to. Then later when I have the time
it seems too late to bother with doing so.
