That's a very good sentiment. I think we all have just had one of those bad
days. I blame the weather. If we all remember that we love bunnies, and
that's why we're here, and that deep down, there's nothing really at the
heart of all the fuss today, that when we all wake up tomorrow, the day will
feel different and the list will be back to being a tad happier. (And if
you can follow that, you get an extra craisin. Somewhere, the comma fairy
dropped her bag!) All families have a day when it all falls apart and they
yell at each other for one reason or another. "You left your socks on the
floor!" "Well, you put the toothpaste on the left side of the sink instead
of the right side!" "Can't you shut the cupboard door?" I think we just
had one of those days. As a whole, our little (big?) family has had a lot
of stress. We've got family members sick (too many to list). We've got
family members who have chronic problems that flare up (unfortunately also a
long list). We've got extended family members who have passed recently
(children, father in laws, bunnies, hammies, and birdies, and others I may
have forgotten). We have friends and family pregnant who we worry over. We
have babies and toddlers that keep us on our toes or up all night. We have
little and big buns that we worry over. We have parents and grandparents
that we pray about daily. Husbands, Mothers, Daughters, Brothers, Wives,
Sisters, Fathers, Sons, Grandparents, Grandchildren, Adopteds, Extendeds,
Fiance(e)s, and all manner of friends. We have more on our minds than any
one of us can possibly handle. And for a few hours today, we all forgot
something important. We all forgot the most important thing of all--we're
not meant to handle it alone. We're meant to stand together, hand in hand
with the person next to us. That person is a member of our adopted family.
They're not the most beautiful or the most popular or a perfect person.
They have flaws and faults and do things wrong. They annoy you and leave
messes and borrow your stuff without asking and leave it dirty and in the
wrong place when they return it. But they're always there. And they always
will be. And that's what makes it special. We're not going to go away just
because you have a bad day. We're not going to go away just because you
yell at us or left us with a mess or made us worry about you. We're going
to pick you off the ground again and mud and all pull you into the biggest
hug just when you need it because we're your family. And don't you dare
forget it.

Mandy
