[Petbunny] Tracey/ wet nose

Oh, Claire, I was sick with worry. Robyn started with stasis and then we discovered an inbalance in his intestinal track which was causing litterbox problems so he was on medicine for that, and then his breathing sounded gurgly so I took him BACK to the vet a third time and the pneumonia was discovered and batril was added to the other two meds. It was a long ordeal. I spent many hours holding him and trying to warm his ears. I talked to him, and tempted him with his favorite treats. Then finally, one day, Suzy came over and we did our best to annoy little Robyn who was trying to hide under Suzy's chair, with some italian parsley she had brought for him, and finally to stop us from swishing it in his face he angrily grabbed it and accidentally took a bite or something. And Claire, he didn't stop eating for weeks. I've never seen a little 5-lb rabbit eat so much. I was VERY HAPPY!!!!!

You aren't being at all overly protective. You need to ask questions. Ask PetBunny and ask your vet. That's what we're all here for!

Hugs for Holly,
Tracey
and Robyn (I'm still eating and I'm still 5-lbs ...)

Thanks Tracey!
Nah there's no sneezing and the litter box is normal, I check her eyes
every day and they seem bright and mischevous as usual! That's a good
point about ringing the vet - Mr Bentley is a lovely man who seems to
know lots about bunnies, and he's always dealt with Holly so he's
familiar with her, and her characteristics. She seems absolutely fine,
but these bunnies are masters of disguise! I reckon its always best
just to check.

I didn't realise little Robyn had pneumonia last year - I'm so glad
 he's
ok. That must have been a worry! *shudder*

Snuggles to Robbie!

Is it all the time, Claire?

Sometimes Robyn's nose gets wet when he's in the middle of grooming or
when he's been playing
hard.

With Robyn I've learned to not worry so long as there's no discharge,
and he's not sneezing.
I check his eyes to be sure they are clear and bright. And I listen to
his breathing to be sure that
is clear. Robyn had pneumonia last year, and so I'm REALLY protective!!

Is everything else okay in the litter box?

My vet reminds me that just like people are prone to certain
characteristics, that rabbits are too.
Maybe Holly is going to be prone to a wet nose!

Do you have a rabbit savvy vet that you could call and ask? I used to
ask A LOT of questions with my first rabbit!

Let's see what other PBer's say about this. Meanwhile, kissies for
Holly!

and Robyn

Hiya,
I may be being a completely over protective bunny mummy but I've
noticed that Holly's nose is a little wetter than usual. There
 doesn't
appear to be any discharge and she's her usual normal jumpy hoppy
 litle
self
but whenever we snuggle she smears it all over me, and it just seems
 'wetter'. Does that make sense?

Should I be worried or is this normal? I'm still a novice at this!!!!
