[Petbunny] my poor madison

Well, we are off to the vets tomorrow afternoon. Please send some be
healthy vibes for our diva.

Her eyes are a bit watery (the fur around the corners seems matted and
damp) and she seems to be snorting/sniffling when she breathes. She's
been laying around more in the last 2 days. I caught her twice
sleeping in the pootybox -- I know some rabbits do sleep there, but
she never has before. Pooty-production seems normal - but it's harder
to tell since she has a mate. Some pooties in their condo are smaller
than normal but not all.

The cut on her nose looks just fine though and she has broken open the
scab -- so no more bloody paws, THANK GOODNESS! But she seems to have
just gone downhill a bit too fast. She'll be 9 in October, as far as
we've estimated, but I"m just not ready to see signs of geriatics in
any of my buns. Mentally, I know it's coming, but emotionally, I'm
far from ready.

She's still eagerly taking treats and grooming her face and moving
around.

and for once, I'm at a loss as to what could be causing the wetness
around her eyes (my knee-jerk reaction says pasterella/snuffles but
why now? Our warren is isolated from other buns - and I do change my
clothes/shower after visiting the shelter buns so I have no idea what
bug/viral thing she may have picked up. Thoughts? No other bun in
the warren seems to be coming down with anything so hopefully it's not
contagious (I don't have another dog-proof room to move anybody to if
that's the case.)

I bought a bag of Oxbow Brome hay at the shelter - as a treat for our
buns to see if they'd like something different than their normal APD
orchard grass. In the past, we've all had allergic reactions to Oxbow
timothy hay (sneezing, watery eyes, my husband's asthma kicking him on
his butt) so now I'm wondering if the small bag of Brome might be
upsetting her.
