I am so sorry you had such terrible news at the Vets yesterday, but at
least you know what is going on now. There is always that "at least"
when something bad happens.
We didn't get Jackie x rayed, so who knows, she could also be riddled
with tumors. I hate cancer!! I was petting my bunny Smokie ATB on her
9th birthday and felt a lump on her shoulder. When I brought her in for
a check up before surgery they didn't take blood from her leg but from
her chest and got clear fluid instead of blood. WTF is that about?? It
turned that she had cancer in between her heart and lungs, as well as on
her shoulder! The cancer between her heart and lungs was successfully
removed and never came back. The cancer on her shoulder was removed
successfully as well, but then she got cancer between her toes on her
back leg. That was removed, but came back within months and there was
nothing that could be done except to remove her leg, and a 9 1/2 year
old is not a springy youngster, so I decided not to do it. When she
passed and she was necropsied they discovered the cancer on her shoulder
was coming back too.
Our bunny Sam also had cancer, which we thought was an abscess, in his
chest and so we were treating it with bicillin. When he finally had
surgery months later his little heart couldn't take it and he passed
away. My bunny Hoppy had breast cancer, which was successfully removed
and she lived 3 more years, but she was only 4 when she got it. So you
can see I am too familiar with cancer and hate it very much. In fact, I
collect money and march against cancer which started out because of
Hoppy, but now I have been doing it for 10 years and now I know too many
humans who have also had cancer.
I am also in shock about Kazi. I wonder how many other bunnies have
this and don't know it. Maybe we should just give Gas X on a regular
basis. Jackie likes the cherry flavor.
